I am a professional artist/session musician and I am very active as a gigging guitarist throughout the UK and Europe.  I recently supported Joan Armatrading at the Derngate Theatre in Northampton as part of her UK tour.  I have also performed at many other high profile venues such as Bush Hall in London, Queen's Hall in Pembrokeshire, Westonbirt Arboretum, Norwegian Church in Cardiff, Grimsby Auditorium and Lincoln Drill Hall as well as festivals such as Onefest, The Great Escape festival, The Secret Garden Party and Buckingham's own Music in the Market!  I am often performing in all the local pubs and I am a regular at many of Buckinghamshire's open mic nights.

Despite being only 24 years old, I have taught guitar privately for around 10 years and I have also worked in privately run music schools.  Most of my guitar teaching experience has been on a one to one basis but I have also been involved in band coaching.







​Approach to ​teaching
​

My lessons focus mainly on the individual student and the music they enjoy while at the same time pushing them forward by showing how music works.​   Everybody learns and memorizes information in different ways and for this reason each student will receive a tailored program of learning.  I can teach all ages and abilities and my approach varies for each group.  My goal is to inspire the student to go home and practice of their own accord.  I aim to provoke the same fascination with the guitar that I have had since I first began playing at the age of 7.  





I can teach all styles of music including rock, blues, jazz, country, metal, acoustic and folk.  I can help you work on a wide range of technique issues as well as aid you in sight reading and music theory.   I can help you to apply music theory directly onto the instrument as well as learning about notation and arrangement.  If you are a singer I can help with the issue of singing and playing at the same time as well as overcoming performance problems. 





I can also teach bass guitar - 4, 5 or 6 string.

Bmus (hons) Jazz from Birmingham Conservatoire

Grade 8 Electric Guitar with distinction (RGT)

Grade 8 Double Bass with Merit (ABRSM)

A level in Music grade B







Pricing



I charge £30 per hour.  I also do half hour lessons for beginners and 20 minute lessons for very young beginners.
